Played Sime from the middle tees. The course was in good shape, and the slopes made club choice matter. I used the club distance tracker before going, which helped on approach shots.
Helpful community answer
Other users agreed that Sime is a strong public 18-hole option if you can keep pace and choose safe targets.

I went after lunch and played 9 holes. It felt less scary than a private club, and the range nearby made warm-up simple.
Helpful community answer
The thread recommends Champions for players who want a central course, coaching nearby, and a lower-pressure first round.

Changi was fun and old-school. The sea view was lovely, but the slopes made misses more costly. Not my first choice for total beginners.
Helpful community answer
Members suggested Changi after a few 9-hole rounds elsewhere, especially for players who already know basic rules and pace.

I joined a flight at Sentosa and loved the course, but the cost and pace made it feel serious. I would not bring a brand-new player.
Helpful community answer
Replies agreed that Sentosa is better after a player knows distance, rules, pace, and course strategy.

I played Orchid and lost balls by choosing hero shots. Next time I will aim safer and use more club.
